A private winter week across three countries’ share of the same mountain range — Albania’s Theth, Kosovo’s Rugova canyon, and Montenegro’s Durmitor massif.

The Accursed Mountains and the wider Dinaric Alps don’t respect national borders, and this journey doesn’t either — a single private route through the same mountain range as it passes through Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro, each with its own winter character and each reached by roads that see very little tourist traffic in this season.

From Theth, the route crosses to Peć/Pejë and the Rugova canyon in Kosovo, then continues into Montenegro’s Durmitor National Park, one of the wildest winter landscapes in the Balkans, before returning south along the coast road. It is a week for travelers who want the region’s mountains without a single repeated view.

Day by Day

Your Journey

01Arrival & Shkodër

Private transfer from Tirana International Airport to Shkodër, with a visit to Rozafa Castle.

02Into Theth

A winter drive into the Albanian Alps, arriving in the snowbound village of Theth.

03Crossing into Kosovo: Rugova

Cross into Kosovo and descend into the Rugova canyon near Peć/Pejë, staying overnight in the highlands.

04Into Montenegro: Durmitor

Continue into Montenegro, arriving at Durmitor National Park for a private guided introduction to the Black Lake area.

05Durmitor at Leisure

A full day in and around Durmitor, with time for gentle winter walks depending on conditions.

06South Along the Coast

Drive south toward the Montenegrin coast, crossing back into Albania via Ulcinj and Shkodër.

07Return to Tirana & Departure

Private transfer back to Tirana International Airport for your onward flight.
