The Adriatic Riviera: Albania & Montenegro
7 Days, Private JourneyA private week pairing Albania’s northern coast with the fjord-like Bay of Kotor and the walled towns of Montenegro — two distinct coastlines within a single, unhurried loop.
Where Albania’s coast is wild and largely undeveloped, Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor is one of Europe’s most photographed stretches of water — mountains dropping directly into a fjord-like bay lined with medieval towns. This journey links the two, crossing the border by private vehicle so the transition happens on your own schedule rather than a coach timetable.
From Shkodër, the route follows the coast into Montenegro, taking in the walled town of Kotor, the sculpted lanes of Budva’s old town, and the island-hotel of Sveti Stefan from its viewpoint, before returning south through Ulcinj’s long sand beaches back into Albania. It is a week that trades a single country for a genuinely regional perspective on the Adriatic.
- The Bay of Kotor, both by boat and from its mountain viewpoint
- The medieval old towns of Kotor and Budva
- Sveti Stefan’s island-hotel, viewed from its coastal overlook
- The Venetian architecture of Ulcinj’s old town
- Lake Shkodër and Rozafa Castle
- A private border crossing with no group logistics

A Glimpse of the Journey
Why This Journey
What Makes This Journey Different
A private border crossing, no group logistics
Crossing from Albania into Montenegro happens in your own vehicle with your own guide-driver — no coach transfers, no waiting on a group’s paperwork.
Kotor Bay from the water and from above
Time built in for both a boat trip across the bay and the switchback drive up to the Kotor viewpoint overlooking the entire fjord.
Two countries, one continuous narrative
The itinerary is built as a single arc rather than two disconnected halves — your guide-driver stays with you the entire week, across the border and back.
Handpicked stays on both coasts
A boutique hotel in Shkodër, a historic property inside Kotor’s old town walls, and a coastal hotel in Ulcinj — each chosen for character over chain-hotel convenience.
